BLACK RHINO MD Series Mud Cleaner: Composition, Operation, and Application Value

Home > BLACK RHINO MD Series Mud Cleaner: Composition, Operation, and Application Value

In oil drilling, geological exploration, and HDD projects, drilling fluid performance directly determines operational safety and efficiency. As core secondary and tertiary solids control equipment, the KOSUN MD series high-efficiency mud cleaner precisely separates fine solid particles, providing vital technical guarantee for mud recovery and recycling.

Structural Design: Integration and Durability

The MD series mud cleaner features a customized hydrocyclone cluster, an underflow vibrating screen, high-performance vibration motors, and a supporting frame. Hydrocyclones use wear-resistant materials such as polyurethane, high-chromium cast iron, or ceramics to extend service life. Desilter hydrocyclones include stainless steel ball valves for easy maintenance. The power system uses reliable Martin vibration motors with long-life composite screens. A wedge block design and mechanical angle adjustment allow quick screen changes and real-time angle adjustments without interrupting operations.

Operating Principle: Centrifugal Sedimentation and Mechanical Filtration

The MD series mud cleaner combines centrifugal sedimentation and mechanical filtration. Drilling mud enters the hydrocyclone cluster, where fine solid particles in the 5–74μm range are separated by density and particle size under high-speed centrifugal force. The concentrated underflow drops onto the vibrating screen for secondary dehydration. Clean liquid passes through the screen and returns to the circulation system, while dry drill cuttings are discharged. This design also allows the underflow screen to serve as parallel backup for the primary shale shaker, enhancing system redundancy and flexibility.

Application Value: Efficiency and Economy

The MD series mud cleaner achieves a solid removal rate of over 90% thanks to its compact structure and powerful capacity. By precisely controlling mud density and viscosity, it reduces the load on downstream equipment and lowers chemical additive costs. Removing harmful solids also minimizes mechanical wear on drilling pumps and downhole tools, extending core equipment life. Whether in large-scale oil and gas drilling or coalbed methane development, the MD series delivers excellent operational adaptability and maintenance economy.

The BLACK RHINO MD series mud cleaner combines durable construction, 5–74μm separation, and over 90% solid removal for reliable drilling performance. With wear-resistant hydrocyclones and easy maintenance, it is a smart investment for lower costs and longer equipment life.
