Traditional solids control equipment often struggles to meet the core requirements of shale gas drilling, including efficient purification, precise sand control, and environmentally responsible waste reduction. This challenge has driven the upgrading of solids control equipment toward greater intelligence and higher efficiency.

In response to shale gas drilling scenarios, Xi’an Black Rhino Industrial has developed customized solids control system solutions. On one hand, the separation accuracy of key equipment—such as desanders and desilters—has been optimized, enabling the efficient removal of solid particles ranging from 2–74 μm, thereby preventing clay particles from clogging reservoirs. On the other hand, the mud circulation system has been upgraded by incorporating modular mud tanks and intelligent chemical dosing devices, allowing real-time monitoring and automatic adjustment of drilling fluid performance. At the same time, these improvements increase the reuse rate of drilling fluids and reduce waste discharge.

In a field application at an overseas shale gas block, this solids control system reduced drilling fluid maintenance costs by 18% and lowered the rate of downhole complications by 22%, earning strong recognition from the project partner.
