How Do the Components of the Slurry Affect the Separation Process?

Solid particles are the most critical component of slurry, and their particle size, concentration, and hardness have the most direct impact on the separation process.

In terms of particle size, coarse particles (greater than 100 μm) are relatively easy to separate using screening equipment, whereas fine particles (smaller than 20 μm) remain in suspension and are difficult to settle naturally. These fine particles require high-precision equipment, such as centrifugal separation systems, for effective removal. From a concentration perspective, excessively high solid content increases slurry viscosity and reduces fluidity, which can lead to screen and pipeline blockage while accelerating equipment wear.
