It also highlights how the solids control systems developed by Xi’an Black Rhino Industrial help oilfields achieve both economic and environmental benefits.
Main Text:
At present, global oilfield development is facing three major challenges: increasing drilling depth, rising operational costs, and increasingly stringent environmental regulations. How to ensure operational efficiency while achieving green and sustainable development has become a key issue for oilfield companies worldwide.
Leveraging its high-efficiency mud solids control systems, Xi’an Black Rhino Industrial Co., Ltd. provides overseas oilfields with a practical solution for reducing costs, improving operational efficiency, and achieving low-carbon operations—helping oilfield operators generate sustainable environmental and economic benefits.

Taking several deep drilling projects around the world as examples, as drilling depth advances toward ultra-deep wells, the difficulty of drilling fluid treatment and the fuel consumption of drilling rigs both increase simultaneously. Traditional extensive solids control methods not only result in resource waste but can also lead to environmental problems such as drilling fluid leakage and land contamination.
The mud solids control system developed by Xi’an Black Rhino Industrial adopts a closed-loop design of purification – circulation – recovery, enabling the efficient reuse of drilling fluids. Equipment such as desanders and centrifuges precisely separates solid particles, allowing cleaned drilling fluid to re-enter the circulation system. The mud tanks are designed with corrosion- and rust-resistant structures to prevent leakage and contamination. At the same time, the system optimizes fluid transfer pathways, reducing drilling rig power consumption and lowering carbon emissions.
In practical applications, this system can increase the drilling fluid reuse rate to over 90%, significantly reducing the cost of preparing new drilling fluid. Waste discharge can be reduced by 60%, effectively minimizing the risk of environmental penalties. In addition, the reduction of equipment wear caused by solid particles decreases maintenance frequency and lowers operational and maintenance costs. Data from an overseas oilfield project shows that after adopting the Xi’an Black Rhino Industrial solids control system, the total operating cost per well decreased by 15%, while carbon emissions were reduced by 20%, achieving a win–win outcome for both economic and environmental benefits.
Looking ahead, Xi’an Black Rhino Industrial will continue to advance research and development in environmentally friendly oilfield mud solids control technologies, promoting equipment toward greater intelligence, lighter design, and lower carbon emissions, and helping more oilfields worldwide achieve the dual goals of efficient resource development and green, low-carbon operations.
